Trauma-informed care promotes practicing a culture of safety, empowerment, and healing. The first step is to recognize how common trauma is, and to understand that every client may have experienced serious trauma. This does not lead to questioning people about their experiences; rather, just assuming that people you work with may have this history, and act accordingly.
Following are trainings focused on trauma-informed care and building a trauma-informed service environment.
Introduction to Trauma-Informed Care
A short introduction and overview of trauma informed services and creating a trauma-informed environment. To achieve a trauma-informed service environment, service providers in all roles – from direct service, to leaders, to support staff – need to be consistent in their interactions with consumers and each other.
